About the School

Founded in 1958 in Barcelona, IESE Business School is the graduate business school of the University of Navarra. In 1963, IESE aligned with Harvard Business School and launched its first two-year MBA program. Today, they are one of the world’s leading business schools with campuses across the world- Barcelona, Madrid, Munich, New York, and São Paulo.

Candidates should note that IESE offers scholarships in all application rounds, with the greater part of them being awarded in the first three rounds. The Scholarship Committee meets at least once for each round of applications. When possible, scholarship decisions will be announced with the admissions decisions, although many scholarships are awarded at a later stage (no later than June 30th).

Kindly note the scholarships at IESE are mostly merit-based, which means that they are awarded for outstanding academic and professional achievements as well as fit with the school. Candidates should remember that your GMAT score plays an important role in securing these scholarships.

IESE Business School MBA Application Process

The latest application requirements set by the IESE Business School MBA admission office are described below.

IESE Business School has three essays that interested candidates must write about. Amongst these three essays, one is optional. The questions are given below:

Essay 1: If you had to come up with a motto for your life, what would it be and why? Please give an example of how you have demonstrated it.
Word limit: 300 words (max)

Essay 2:: Describe your short and medium-term post-MBA goals? How will the IESE MBA help you achieve them?
Word limit: 300 words (max)

Optional Essay: What would you like to highlight about yourself or your journey which may have not been captured in your application?
Word limit: 300 words (max)

IESE Business School requires only one recommendation letter. Candidates will have to submit their recommendation letters through the online application system. The recommendation letter can be submitted in Spanish and/or English.

Here are some tips for the letter of recommendation:

Who can give a recommendation: You will have to provide details of one recommender who can be your reporting manager/ previous manager/ senior colleague/ current client/ previous client/ business partner/ supplier/ auditor etc.

How a letter of recommendation should be written: The recommender should add specific instances/examples of the candidate’s professional work together.

How to send the letter of recommendation: The recommender should send the recommendation from the official email id only. If the recommender does not have an official id – then proof that you reported / or was supervised by this person should be attached.
